Description
This is a replacement Lift Mechanism for your Hasty Bake grill. The lift mechanism is the unit that raises and lowers the firebox to allow you to grill, bake, or smoke. This includes the lift bracket, arms, channel, indicator needle (except for the 270 and 290 models), and all necessary hardware to attach the lift mechanism to the grill.
It's very important that you measure the dimensions before ordering a part. If your grill was made before 1988 your dimensions may be slightly different, or your crankhandle threads may be a different size. If your crank threads are different, then you will need to replace your lift mechanism as well as the crank.

Jethro Franklin the Hasty bake company was extremely helpful. I order my accessories and installed them myself. I have owned my hasty bake for 25 years so i was overdue for a make-over. I sanded it, primed it and painted it It looks and performed like new.

John Flamini After owning a Legacy grill for several years, some parts naturally began to break down. The lift mechanism for the firebox is the most complex moving part, and years ago the hinges on the box wore out, but a simple fix of SS screws took care of that. It was finally time to replace it. The part came with the hardware, and it was a matter of removing the crank handle, removing the 6 nuts and bolts, putting the new one in place and then affixing the pointer. Simpler than I expected, mostly because Hasty bake did not skimp, and used SS bolts, which did not rust or corrode despite exposure to (very) high heat and all seasons here in PA. Well done, and grilled a side of salmon just to check it out. Works great again.

DOUGLAS SOPER It didn't come with directions on how to install. The weld that connected the pointer that indicates the height of the charcoal lift broke off with next to no force. You ought to reconsider that design. I'm going to glue it onto the rod with high-heat glue. I haven't used the grill since fixing. The lift itself installed easily apart from the pointer.
